I love it when I'm asked to review something a little bit different. This is the book I needed as a child, and the book every parent should get for the children.
Chequing in: Teaching your kids (aged 7-13) about money using fun stories.
Gail tells her new friend all about her Grandpa's adventures to a far away island where he discovered the Three Rules of Wealth.
As Gail shares her Grandpa’s adventures, your kids will learn about:
- Rich vs Wealthy
- How to earn money
- Importance of saving
- Growing money
- Patience is a superpower
- Avoiding gambling, scams and (bad) debt
Why you should spend your money on this:
This is a really fun way to teach children about money in a fun and engaging way. There is an interactive puzzle along the way as well as some really great characters.
I was a little apprehensive at first and worried that with this being American, it may not translate so well for UK readers, but it goes through the fundamentals and proves to be universal. (Of course there are dollar sign not pounds but this could be easily overlooked- or an opportunity to discuss currencies).
I definitely learnt a thing or two, and was left feeling like I wish I knew this in school.
This is pitched just right, not too heavy but educational in a fun way.
