Fancy a short story packed with emotion and challenging the sense of belonging? This is the read for you.

Detangling the plot:
Kate and her teenage daughter return to Ireland to sort through what is left of the family farm. But in doing so, Kate is brought to all the reasons she left many years ago. She can find no attachment to the objects of her past until she comes across her father’s dictionary.
Can words be the way for her to unlock the past? Can they help pave the way towards reconciliation? Can they help us understand ourselves?
Source is a book about beginnings and homeland and the words that accompany us on our journey.
Bobs and Books honest review:

There is so much packed into this short story and I was wowwed. It definitely left me eager and itching to know more. What I found particularly clever was how much the unsaid speaks as well as the said. The air of mystery is so intriguing. Its incredibly sweet, poignant. Could definitely relate as I feel mixed emotions when I go back to my home and things feel different yet familiar. This transports you into Kate's world but its an uncomfortable one which makes you need to read on. A perfect one sitting read.
